Requirements[edit]

1). Active account at Linode.

2). API Key

2). WGS Licence key.

How to find the API Key ?[edit]

  1. Log in to the Linode Manager.
  2. Select the my profile link.
  3. Enter your password and click Authenticate.
  4. Select the API Keys tab.
  5. Optional: Type a label for the API key in the Label field.
  6. Optional: Set an expiration time using the Expires dropdown menu. ...
  7. Click the Create API Key button.

How to download the module files?[edit]

How to upload the module files?[edit]

  1. Extract the downloaded module folder linode_manager.
  2. Under Modules folder, you will find folder i.e. addons and servers.
  3. You need to upload that addons and servers folder to WHMCS directory (whmcs_root/). It will copy the required module files and nothing will be over written.

How to configure the module?[edit]

Addon module configure steps[edit]

1. Let's configure addon module first. Log in to your WHMCS admin area. Go to Setup => Addon Modules . Afterwards, find "Linode" and press Activate button.

In the next step you need to allow access to this module.

To do so click on 'Configure' button, Enter the below details.

1.1. Enter Api Url (https://api.linode.com/)

1.2. Enter Api Key

1.3. Enter License Key

Tick 'Access Control' near desired admin role groups and press 'Save Changes'.

Server module configure steps[edit]

1. Go to Setup -> products/services and then create a product group.

2. After creating the group, Create a product with this group.

3. Configure Linodes server module with this module under Module Settings tab.

4. Choose module name WGS Linode (See below image marked as point 1)

5. Click Create/Update custom field (See below image marked as point 2)

6. API URL should be auto filled you don't need to update any thing in this field.

7. API Key should be auto filled you don't need to update any thing in this field.

8. Select Linode Plan : It's very important choose the correct plan which you want assign to your product e.g. Linode 1024 is 1 GN Linode plan.

8. Select Kernal : We will recommend to choose the Latest always Kernal like : Latest 64 Bit 4.9.15-x86-64Bit_linode81

9. Select the Subscription term in months for prepaid customers. e.g. 1 month, 12 month, or 24 month (See below image marked as point 3)

Note*: If in product pricing you choose billing cycle monthly then we recommend you to select subscription plan as 1 month.

10. Select the Swap disck size which you want assign to this product. (See below image marked as point 4)

Go to client area and then place a order with Linode product and then complete the order.

You can see your all running server detail in the addon module.

How To Assign Running Server with WHMCS client service?[edit]

If you have already running users server with your Linode, and you want to assign these servers with your WHMCS clients services.

You need to edit client service from your WHMCS admin, then go to Linode addon module with your WHMCS, under server tab click on server id (which server you want to configure with WHMCS client service) and copy "Server Id (Linode Id), Config Id, Swap Disk Id, Disk Id, etc.." and paste in given fields with related WHMCS service.

1. Enter Linode id (Server Id) From Linode panel

2. Enter Config Id (Server profile id)

3. Enter Swap Disk Id (Server swap disk id)

4. Enter Disk Id (Sever main disk id)

5. Set Data center according to Server Location from Linode panel

6. Set Distribution (OS Template) from Linode panel

7. Reverse DNS, if you want to show your own Reverse DNS in clientarea, then you can enter your Reverse DNS in text field otherwise leave the balnk.

How to upgrade the module[edit]

If you are running the module less than Linode-v1.0.6 WHMCS Version Module and now want to upgrade the module with latest version follow the below steps.

How to upload the module files?[edit]

Note : Before uploading the latest flies please take your existing WHMCS Database and files backup.

  1. Extract the downloaded module folder named as linode_manager.
  2. Under modules folder, you will find folders i.e. addons and servers.
  3. You need to upload that addons and servers folder to WHMCS directory (whmcs_root/). It will copy the required module files and override the linode files with latest version.

After uploading the files edit the linode products and click on the create/update custom field under module setting tab.
